Candid portraits of youth culture juxtaposed with otherworldly seeming landscapes and still-lifes. Julian Mährleins work manages to balance between different genres while staying true to his honest and sensitive approach to his subjects. He embraces the unexpected and fleeting moments that occur while photographing and allows for their translation into intimate, unposed images. He has a distinct sense for contemporary and diverse characters that he seeks for his projects across editorial, commercial and personal work.
Julian studied photography at the London College of Communication and Art & Politics at Goldsmiths College in London. After having spend 7 years in the city he recently moved to Berlin where he now lives with his family.
